The high altitude favours excellent snow cover for most of the winter. The Campo Imperatore plateau offers good opportunities for cross-country skiers, while the gullies of the Gran Sasso allow for countless off-piste and ski-touring itineraries. In addition to skiing, there are natural and artificial rock climbing areas, sled-dogs excursions, snowshoe trecking and snowboarding schools.<\/p>\n

Majella National Park.<\/strong> An all-mountain Park, the Mother Mountain of Abruzzo in the most inaccessible and wild part of the Central Apennines known as the “Sacred” Mountain.<\/p>\n

The Park of the Wolf, of the Bear, of the vast high-altitude plateaus and of the wild and imposing canyons, but also the Park of the Hermitages, of the Abbeys, of the dry stone huts, of the marvelous historical centers of the Municipalities that are part of this special part of the country<\/p>\n
