The area is steeped in history and is surrounded by wineries and vines as far as the eye can see. In the marchlands you can taste original and wines, specially the very famous Prosecco wine. The \u2018Strada del Prosecco\u2019 is the route which winds through hills and vineyards, discovering flavour and history of this jewel. During the autumn, the grape harvesting season is incredible to see, and if we are lucky, groups can get involved! The Province of Treviso is an excellent food location, with gourmet restaurants dotted around the cities and countryside.<\/p>\n

The history of the Marchlands of Treviso was characterized by feuds and lineage, who marked the evolution of the territory on the right and left banks of the river Piave. Over the Piave, the province of Treviso is cut through by two more rivers: the Livenza and the Sile, Europe\u2019s longest underground river, which actually is a Natural Regional Park.<\/p>\n

In the Marchlands of Treviso it is possible to follow the Strada dell\u2019Architettura (The Architectural Route), an itinerary where scenographical landscapes give way to genuine architectonic masterpieces. A possible route includes the towns of Asolo, the town of \u201cone hundred horizons\u201d and Possagno with its \u2018Gipsoteca\u2019 dedicated to Antonio Canova, tha famous sculpture. The museum dedicated to Canova is very interesting to vist and reveals the secrets of this forward thinging artist.<\/p>\n

The Palladian villas stand out in the landscape, a fine example of a blend of landowners\u2019 property, countryside, gardesn and agricultural land. The beautiful villas are filled with important works of art and frescoes. One of the most beautiful Palladian villas is Villa of Maser.<\/p>\n

Over the Piave, the province of Treviso is cut through by two more rivers: the Livenza and the Sile, Europe\u2019s longest underground river, which actually is a Natural Regional Park.<\/p>\n
