Piemonte

Piedmont is in Italy’s northwest and borders Switzerland and France. Piedmont is a land of mountains, as it is surrounded on three sides by the Alps, with the highest peaks and largest glaciers in Italy. The area of the Langhe and Monferrato is studded with beautiful, cultivated hills and vineyards that are dotted with small towns and castles. The plains around the area of Novara and Vercelli is where the majority of Italian rice paddies are situated.
Lake Maggiore is a very popular tourist resort, and includes the town of Stresa and the charming Borromean Islands. Natural beauty is not the only attraction in Piedmont. This region has many other sides and the historical city of Turin with its history and remarkable cultural heritage, is worth the visit to the region even by itself.
The whole area is full of intriguing Medieval castles and the famous Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. Spa resorts offer treatments and therapy for a relaxing, reviving holiday. Discoveries and incredible surprises will welcome visitors to the region, and the wide range of food and wine will suit every palate.
